DeepMap Overview

DeepMap was founded in 2016 in Palo Alto, California by James Wu (CEO) and Mark Wheeler (CTO). DeepMap's leadership team comes from Apple Maps, Google Maps, Google Earth, Baidu, and NIO, and DeepMap's engineering teams consist of individuals with deep expertise in mapping and GIS systems. Every team member is uniquely qualified to solve HD mapping for autonomous vehicles at global scale.

DeepMap's technical advisory board consists of industry leaders in the field of mapping, including Hermann Kaess, former CEO of Bosch Korea and EVP of Robert Bosch GmbH. By the start of 2019, DeepMap closed its Series B funding round, raising a total of $95M in funding to date. Our publicly announced investors include Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH, NVIDIA, Generation Investment Fund, Goldman Sachs, Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, and GSR Ventures.

DeepMap's customers include Honda, Ford, Ridecell, Enride, and SAIC Motor. DeepMap's roster of customers include tier 1 suppliers, automotive OEMs, trucking & logistics companies, robotaxi services, and AV startups. Our HD mapping and localization solutions are hardware and software agnostic, fully customizable, and scalable. DeepMap's platform enables autonomous vehicle fleets to create, consume, and update their own HD map, in real time. Our HD maps are grounded in safety, accuracy, and reliability.
