GISAD was founded in 1976 and we are very proud of our long history in the United Arab Emirates.

We are an officially recognized German School Abroad. This means that all our diplomas are equivalent to the ones issued in Germany. We offer our students a school career, which is not only characterized by intercultural awareness, but also by the idea of being a global citizen.

Our school can be distinguished from others as we begin teaching German and English as early as kindergarten. From the first grade on, all our main lessons are conducted in German.

In the upper grades, bilingual studies are offered. Beginning in fifth grade, students are assessed regarding their future school career: Realschule, Gymnasium/Abitur.

Students from non-German speaking backgrounds can join our Linguistic Integration Program. This program is tailored to intensively support students who have little or no knowledge of the German language so that they can graduate from GISAD.
