KEITH HAWKE Producer and Director
Keith Hawke set up Hawke Films in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur which grew to be the biggest producer of corporate films and a significant producer of TV series in Asia. His clients included a very diverse range of multinational corporations and his productions won international awards.
Over the years he has produced many TV series, which have included:
‘Talking to Tourists.’ In which international tourists relate their tales of adventure and drama on the road.
'Travellers Check.'
Co-produced with well known TV presenter Michelle Han.
This was a travel series that took an amusing look at Asian tourist destinations.
‘Rice Mice’
Created and produced 50 episodes of this first ever English language children’s TV series that gave Malaysian kids a forum to speak for themselves.
This fast moving programme was shot on locations throughout Malaysia

Created, funded and produced this first ever regional television series.
Set up an Asiawide network of production units in most major cities.
Produced 26 episodes of the series which sold to television in Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, US and Japan.

Conceived, Produced and Directed this lifestyle and cooking 14 x 30 min TV series shot throughout South Australia.

Caterpillar. "Getting More Done".
Created, wrote and produced one of the most important corporate films made for the Caterpillar Tractor Co. USA.
Conceived and directed the composition of 20 minutes of original music.
The film was awarded to Hawke Films in competition with over 50 production companies in the USA.
The film was shot in 35mm wide screen, recorded and mixed in Dolby stereo at Film Australia and screened in a theatre specially constructed by Disney Engineering at the Las Vegas CONEXPO.
The film was shot on location in Brazil, Kenya, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, Scotland, England, Japan and Hong Kong.
Cathay Pacific. "From Hong Kong to the World."
Created wrote and produced.
This film was shot in 35mm and won the Best of Festival at BISFA UK.
It was also awarded Best Cinematography and Best Editing.
It was awarded the Gold Camera Award at the Chicago Film festival.
The film was shot in Sydney, Vancouver, London, Jakarta, Bangkok, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Hongkong Bank Grand Opening Performances.
Co-ordinated all technical facilities for simultaneous broadcast of two pop concerts and the official opening celebrations using three complete Outside Broadcast Units, micro wave and fibre optic links, English and Cantonese commentaries and a huge lighting rig.
Sarawak Tourism Board “5 Star Adventure.”
Promotional video to market Sarawak state as a 5 star holiday destination.
Several thousand copies of the video were distributed throughout the world.
Cataract eye surgery. Kuala Lumpur.
Co-ordinated multi camera coverage of international surgeons demonstrating new cataract surgery techniques. Required multi microwave links for two-way pic & sound broadcast to audience about 10kms away.
‘Possums of the Sea?’
Controversial documentary on the interaction of seals and the commercial fishing industry. Produced and directed.
His films have won Best of Festival, Best Cinematography and Best Editing at BISFA in the UK and the Gold Camera Award in Chicago.

Keith Hawke began as a freelance cameraman for John O’Shea at Pacific Films shooting with directors Barry Barclay and Tony Williams.
Keith was cameraman on the groundbreaking Tangata Whenua documentary series produced by Pacific Films with Michael King and Barry Barclay.
He filmed:
‘Jannu. Never Go Near Him’. A feature documentary on the NZ Himalayan expedition with over 300 porters..
‘Women in Power.’ A profile of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi
‘Spirit of Asia.’ ‘To Be Born a Burman.’ A rare look at the life of the people of Burma.
He was a founder of The Business Channel cable TV station in Kuala Lumpur and was a partner in the Channel 5 station project in Hong Kong.
He has been a consultant on Film to the Singapore Government and Chairman of the
Singapore Film and Video Producers Association.
He has worked at the highest levels on Communication Strategies with the Malaysian Government.
In Hong Kong he filmed the feature ‘Gift Girls’ which was a French Canadian co-production.
