Jewell Animal Hospital

Dürfen wir uns vorstellen?

As the oldest small animal hospital west of the Mississippi River, Jewell Animal Hospital has been providing quality care to pets in St. Louis since 1949. The hospital was founded by Dr. Jay Jewell Sarhonson after he returned from military service during World War II. Dr. Patricia L. Smith has been leading Jewell Animal Hospital since October 2006 and has been instrumental in modernizing the hospital to make sure pets have access to all of the latest advances in veterinary technology.

Jewell Animal Hospital specializes in the care of dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, birds, and pocket pets. For new pet owners, the hospital offers pet vaccinations, wellness exams, and microchipping. Other services available include surgery and anesthesia, comprehensive pain management, dental prophylaxis, tonometry, radiological services, and in-house lab work.

When a pet is in need of prescription medication, Jewell has a convenient online pharmacy service that lets owners order the prescription and have it shipped directly to their door. This saves time and money, because pet owners no longer need to plan a visit to the practice to pick up their pets' prescriptions.

Jewell Animal Hospital works with PetSmart Charities to raise awareness about the problem of pet homelessness and to make it easier for interested people to adopt animals in need. Clients can also visit the Jewell website to review a list of "Judy's Forgotten Jewells"—cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and other animals in need of a forever home. Photos of all available pets are provided, as well as information about the pet's physical health and whether the animal would be a good choice for families with young children or other pets in the home.
