As the President of Kids First Pediatrics in Georgia, Dr. Karen Kim has served at the practice for a decade. With responsibility for overseeing operations at Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Kim is an experienced pediatrician certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. At Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Kim works with a team of five other highly qualified board-certified pediatricians. Kids First Pediatrics maintains three locations in Southside Savannah, Pooler, and Rincon. Prior to her role at Kids First Pediatrics Dr. Karen Kim completed her undergraduate work at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She supported her studies at the University of Tennessee with several academic scholarships, and was a Grote chemistry scholar. Maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, Dr. Karen Kim graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Biology. Subsequently pursuing her medical training, Dr. Karen Kim studied at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Washington University as among the top 10 medical schools in the United States in every year since 1987. The magazine most recently rated it as fourth in the nation for research. In 1993, she obtained her M.D. from the Washington University School of Medicine. After earning her medical degree, she proceeded to the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville to complete her residency in pediatrics. She subsequently founded Kids First Pediatrics. Like the rest of the staff at Kids First Pediatrics, Dr. Karen Kim maintains professional privileges at both Memorial University Medical Center and Saint Joseph’s/Candler. Should a patient’s condition become serious enough to require hospitalization, she or any of the other staff pediatricians at Kids First Pediatrics may admit the child immediately to either institution, and will care for the child throughout the course of the hospitalization. Dr. Kim regularly mentors residents in pediatrics at Memorial University Medical Center. In addition to her role at Kids First Pediatrics, she also serves as a mother of seven children.
