The Lean Construction Journal
The Lean Construction Journal (LCJ) is an international, open-access, refereed journal that has been published on-line since 2004 (http://www.leanconstructionjournal.org).
The Journal exists to stimulate and report the development and application of Lean Construction theory and practice in a way that is accessible to both practitioners and scholars.
Authored by both practitioners and scholars, past papers describe research approaches, theoretical foundations, experiments, practical applications, case studies and results.
Authors are encouraged to consider but not be confined to topics related to:
1. The improvement and optimization of the end-to-end built environment development, use, operation, maintenance, and reconfiguration process.
The organization and management of work to eliminate waste and maximize value from earliest programming through decommissioning and recycle.
2. The management and reduction of risk and the improvement of safety.
3. The development and application of technology to improve access to and use of information during all project phases .
4. Organizational issues including structure, communication, collaboration and authority related to Integrated Project Delivery.
5. The development and application of commercial terms including relational contracts, integrated forms of agreement and insurance.
The journal’s acceptance rate is just below 50%. This is a testament to the rigor of the journal’s reviewers, both practitioners and academics, and places LCJ among the Tier 1 journals in the field of Construction Management.
Both practitioners and scholars are encouraged to contact the editors for support and advice in developing topics.
