C.L.Hoechner - Overseas Tours Inc., was founded in 1962 by Carl Ludwig Hoechner, a German immigrant in 1958. 

Carl Hoechner has specialized in group travel to Europe and has been the general agent for the  Hanseatic-Atlantic-Line in the South Eastern United States. In ’67 C.L.Hoechner-Overseas Tours  started doing business under the name of Oberammergau Tours, promoting the world famous passion play in Oberammergau 1970. Oberammergau Tours has been specialized in offering tours to Oberammergau ever since. 1980, 1984, 1990, 2000 and 2010 have been the big years to follow.

Carl Christian Hoechner started working for the company in 1984, being in charge for the European operation. After the sudden death of Carl L. Hoechner in August of 2000, Christian Hoechner has taken over the responsibility for the firm. 

Since 1962 Oberammergau Tours is proud of having loyal clients from all over the world. 2010 was a new milestone in the history of this company as, for the first time, clients book Passion Play 2010 land arrangement in combination with river cruises and Mediterranean cruises.
