Other Things does not assume itself, space-wise, as an Art Gallery. We consider that it would seem too limited to define it as such, taking into account all of its objectives.

Gazing into the actual Portuguese art-market, there seems to be a rather large gap between what the artist produces and the display brought about by that same production. Thus our enterprise intends on establishing itself as a catalyzer capable of inter-connecting all the areas that involve cultural production, with the purpose of appeasing and help solve the problematic issue between artist and market.

This Project is situated near the Óbidos lagoon, at the edge of its particular eco-system, with the purpose of creating and exposing a connectiveness between Art and Nature. The gain brought by this relationship, it is hoped and appealed to, is that various artistic practices can be born based upon environmental issues.

Other Things intends on being an enterprise that offers its services to cultural demands, and also to innovate and enrich the cultural field with a variety of proposals that can capture the public’s eye and open it to the pressing issues and interpretation of contemporary Art. This issue being the most fundamental and crucial point, for it is imbedded in the axis between art and society.

Other Things’s mission is to inform and sensitize the public about contemporary Art and the environment.
