P.C. Richard & Son offers name brands for large and small household appliances. Large appliance manufacturers in stock include Amana, Frigidaire, Maytag, and Whirlpool. Customers will also recognize small appliance brands like Sharp, DeLonghi, and Black & Decker. P.C. Richard & Son additionally carries designer appliances made by General Electric, Bosch, Wolf, and others.

In addition to appliances, P.C. Richard & Son sells televisions, video, home audio, and portable electronics. The stores carry products from Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and Sony. Shoppers will find audio products by RCA, Panasonic, Yamaha, and Bose. The stores also provide mp3 players, e-book readers, and portable electronics from leading brands.

Quality brands are represented in P.C. Richard & Son’s other product categories as well, such as computers, cameras, camcorders, video games, and related accessories. The company installs car stereo systems at many of its locations.

In 1909, Dutch immigrant Peter Christian Richard started his first hardware store in Brooklyn. In the following decades, his son A.J. helped expand the store’s offerings to include appliances and repair services. With the invention of the television, more store locations opened. A.J. Richard’s sons Gary and Peter become employees of the company, and by the 1970s, the company had expanded to nine showrooms. Gary and Peter Richard assumed responsibility for company operations in 1980, and in that decade, the company grew to 19 locations. In the 1990s, the company expanded beyond New York, with a showroom in New Jersey. In the 21st century, Gregg Richard, another generation of the family, heads the multistate enterprise. What remains unchanged is a commitment to its principles of Honesty, Integrity, and Reliability.
