Based on over 18 years of expertise Rapp OptoElectronic manufactures and supplies microscopy equipment and corresponding custom solutions that are developed in close cooperation with their worldwide customers and collaboration partners.

As an experienced manufacturer of scientific instruments for microscopy Rapp OptoElectronic is mainly specialized in localized- and photomanipulation and also in general illumination for microscopy.

Our optical devices for research in LifeScience are mainly used for the following research areas of our customers:

The Rapp OptoElectronic GmbH is an independent family-owned company based in the North of Germany. Founded in 2001, Rapp OptoElectronic has started as a manufacturer of flash lamp systems for flash photolysis applications. Over time, the company has expanded to become a modern and internationally well-known and established company operating together with numerous renowned companies and well-respected research institutes.

We started with high-energy flashlamp systems, we are popular for our standard product range for localized illumination and what is more we are a competent partner for Photometry & Calcium Imaging, Holographic Illumination and Multi-Photon Microscopy.

Our Story

The Rapp OptoElectronic GmbH (ROE) was founded in 2001, following the predecessor company founded in 1987 in the form of a GbR. Founder of both companies is the current Company Associate and Managing Director Dr. Gert Rapp.

He is the author or co-author of nearly 100 scientific publications in well-known journals for biophysical and neuroscience methods based on more than 15 years of experience in fundamental research at MPI and EMBL Heidelberg and MPIKG in Germany:
