Brief History

Sematext was founded by Otis Gospodnetić, a Lucene and Solr expert, co-author of Lucene in Action (1st and 2nd editions), and a member of Lucene, Solr, Nutch, and Mahout development teams. The company is entirely self-funded and has been profitable and cash flow positive since Day One without ever taking on debt or external funding. Over time we have established a presence in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, which allows us to easily serve our diverse clientele of Fortune 100 organizations to startups -- and everything in between -- 24/7 across different timezones.
