A customer contacted us to solve a water leak in a flow sensor. Not being able to modify the already existing plastic components, we made a black silicone gasket with a thickness of 1.2 mm to adapt to the existing situation. From the first tests it turned out that the thickness was too high and the plastic components deformed, so we created a second solution in transparent silicone with a thickness of 0.9 mm which definitively solved the problem. A customer of us asked for a solution for a simple but at the same time particular application.A simple O-Ring in EPDM 60 shore assembled on a threaded plastic cap that will be opened only a few times in the life of the product. After months/years the gasket would stick to the plastic component making it difficult to open and would probably be damaged.
