• Failure prediction and analysis of a 3rd generation Magnesium alloy. • Successfully created an algorithm for simulating contact-based structural models using Zebulon (Linux Scripting). • Successfully characterized Bendability behaviour and the onset of failure of AZ31 as a function of the sheet orientation w.r.t. its axes of orthotropy. • Mechanical design calculations and operating the data acquisition systems. • First person in Europe to have simulated the bendability of sheet metals using Z-set.
Project on “Deformation and failure analysis of magnesium sheets under mixed-mode loading”. AZ31 sheets were subjected to mixed mode loading using the Arcan Structure. The experiments were conducted at selective orientations relative to the extrusion direction. The strain measurements were made with the use of Digital image correlation. Also, examination of microstructural fracture surface was done using an SEM, along with In-situ electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and optical microscopy.

• Accomplished a project on Time and Motion study of the assembly of EC210WLC, EC290W, and EC300WC excavators. • Devised and implemented new approaches to implement certain changes to the operational workflow, which resulted in the reduction of the cycle time by 15% using 5S method. • Redesigned the workstation such that the motion of the employees at every station was reduced to 35 percent using techniques like Poke-Yoke, Andon, and Kaizen.
