Ahmed Faisal Ahmed Abdelrahman

I currently work as a research assistant for the EU project, ROPOD, at H-BRS. As part of a team handling fault detection and diagnosis for autonomous mobile robots, I contribute to the software required to achieve fault-tolerant operation, and conduct and analyse the results of extensive tests of the robots’ navigation and other functionalities. Among our interests are applying statistical and machine learning methods for reliable anomaly/fault detection as well as adaptive behavior.

For five months, I was in charge of overseeing all electro-mechanical work during the construction of a ministerial suite in the Seaport Administration Tower, heading a team of four technicians. I was involved in diverse aspects of the project, gaining experience with construction site management and the design and installation of mechanical (HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing etc.) and electrical (wiring, cable and electronic) systems.
