During this contract the vessel had opportunity to sail through the English separation systems and numerous points for reports. We had a usual trip between port of Amsterdam and Algeria. This car carrier was engaged in supply old vehicles for renewing. The crew was mixed and as a result I had a good chance to improve my English. After all I got knowledge of transportation of cars, successfully solved questions with stability of this type of vessel, researched best way of lashing and secure for the vehicles.

Usual place for loading in this voyage was somewhere in ports of South Africa. There were a lot of long trips via the Atlantic and huge number of nautical charts for correction. In result I had got chance to pass through US coast guard checks, remaining perfect in navigation routes I was able to observe and predict the weather and successfully avoid the storms. Numerous of paper charts and almanacs was corrected by notices to mariners.

This contract was best of experience for second mate. There were too short voyages between ports and a lot of Islands in Mexican gulf. There were a days we had three ports. This contract was fast as was fast the vessel. In a result I got knowledge to be always in time with routes, checklists and cargo operations.

I was on board this ship more the one year. I saw all beauty of the world and got unbelievable experience. Grew up as officer and team leader, involved in rescue operations and engaged in repairing in dock. I was responsible for all fire fighting and rescue appliances, communications and preparations of vessel for trips. Most attractive vessel.

During this period I was included in creation of study book for dredging faculty. My practice was at scientific vessel “Fedor Minaev” after that I got chance to work as mate on different vessels
