Deployed and supported new physical and virtual servers. Expanded our infrastructure definition as code, automating tasks with Ansible, shell and Python. Added new tests and checks in our commits and builds. Rolled out several changes in a staged manner, following a change management process. Integrated monitoring for both our systems and our process into a dashboard. Developed a simple auditing system to monitor changes in servers which are rebooted on a schedule.

Implemented and supported monitoring (Grafana) for EA’s (electronic arts) commercial production and pre-production environments, developed for a metrics collector for Graphite. Configured Nagios alerts. Supported CI and change mgmt tools such as Jenkins, Jira and Artifactory, integrated with Slack. Managed Linux systems (Redhat/CentOS) using modern technologies, such as AWS and Terraform. Supported the deployment of core EA Linux-based applications using docker and Ansible.

Developed (shell, Python, django, C, perl, git) for the Yocto Project, open source generator of custom Linux distributions mainly for embedded systems across hardware architectures. I set up QA/CI automation: with Debian Linux, libvirt, CI (buildbot). Led L2 global internal cloud and lab automation support team. We deployed HP blade servers and enclosures (Virtual Connect, Onboard Administrator), Raritan central KVM/PDU mgmt and automation for those and for network equipment (Cisco, HP, Extreme, Aruba), set up VMware vCenter servers, VMware ESX 4.x/5.x servers, and VMs/templates with post-install scripts. Non technical accomplishments: streamlining workflow, maintaining relationships, tracking team goals & performance.

As a Level 2 systems administrator, I kept our Apache and MySQL SLES and Ubuntu Linux server fleet running and growing with great performance while deploying new instances and troubleshooting, as part of a dynamic global team. NIS was used for user integration with Active Directory, and cfengine for configuration mgmt. Planned BC/DR. Monitored with Ganglia, MySQL enterprise monitor. Developed config tool for web servers in Python. Scripted with shell, perl.
