- Implementation of soft X-ray and UV spectroscopy to investigate novel two-dimensional materials with prospective technological applications. Project planning, feasibility study and successful proposal writing. - Coordination of user experiments at large-scale X-ray facilities with international collaborators. - Experimental methodology development for chemistry and material science and user support of external scientists.

Successful commissioning of the FXE instrument of European XFEL to start first user experiments, support of and collaboration with external scientists in conducting their proposed experiment.

- Initiation of novel interdisciplinary research projects to investigate technologically and biologically relevant molecules using time-resolved X-ray spectroscopy. Successful beamtime applications at Synchrotrons and XFELs. - Development and characterization of an experimental setup for time-resolved X-ray spectroscopy, including optical laser setup and data acquisition scheme. - Dissemination of results after data analysis, simulation and interpretation in chemical/physical context.

Hands-on experience in optical instrumentation. Design and setup of optical imaging system and vacuum chamber to investigate intensity dependence of ionization dynamics of gases.
