Lecturer for legal aspects of digitalization, labor law and corporate law

Promoted and received extended scope of responsibilities. These included the strategy and policy development for trade secrets and copyrights as well as university research and confidentiality agreements globally.

Built and headed a global function with a team of IP attorneys and standards specialists dealing with IP management and strategies, IP transactions, open standards and open source strategies.

Created and managed a global IP Compliance function responsible for IP compliance, IP counseling, IP transactions, IP pre-litigation matters and settlements. This included the design and implementation of a worldwide program on IP compliance (policy, training and counseling), supporting IP transactions with partners and customers and SAP business initiatives with IP advice.

Promoted and received additional responsibilities in building and managing a team of attorneys and contract specialists responsible for providing legal, policy and operational support for SAP Research projects and agreements. This entailed drafting and negotiating research agreements worldwide, including multilateral international cooperation agreements, university agreements, partner development cooperations and proof of concepts.

Promoted to Senior Legal Counsel with same scope as previous role. Secondement with SAP Labs, Palo Alto, US in 2006 to implement the first corporate legal function in North America .

Joined the Corporate Legal Department of SAP with focus on support of the development teams and the CTO. This entailed legal counseling and contract negotiations for strategic partnerships, customer contracts, software development initiatives, data protection and security matters, open source and open community engagements, M&A transactions and a variety of IP transactions.
