Alexandre Pepin

I am located in the Brazil Research and Geoengineering Center (BRGC) within Parque Technológico of UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro). I take care of several production projects that focus on Pre-Salt carbonate reservoirs, from stimulation to EOR. It is an endless learning curve of basic knowledge from other areas (geology, reservoir, rock physics, porous media, fluid mechanics...) and technologies. You never get tired of it! lots of fun.

I am managing a testing and logging project to our client in Brazil. I have to link various segments of the company together, delivering financial studies and viability in various environment in order to extend the panel of feasibility of the technology to its maximum. I coordinate the development and research around optimization of the results gathered from the pilot jobs and field experience.

I was Technical Engineer for WSA region in Well Intervention and Stimulation. I supervised and validate designs, offer expertise on colleagues designs and campaigns for the different districts of my area. My assignments favoured Team Work with our clients to be able to work on long term programs (regional and international). Eventually I had to see for future opportunities, preparing tender proposals and proposing new products and technology to always promote Schlumberger as leader in solution delivery.

Client Service Delivery to Chevron/CABGOC (Malongo ­ Angola). I Started as a Junior Field Engineer, designing engineered solutions to improve oil production, I was also managing a team to deliver services on production site. Another part of my assignments was the follow up on Service Quality. Good Team Leader skills were necessary to deliver the best professional services, keep up to oil companies expectations and meet Schlumberger standard of Excellence in Execution.

Customer Agent at Liverpool airport. Student job to have money while finishing up my thesis.

Starting working in a team of research to improve catalytic steps of synthesis of plastic oligomer MMA (Lucite). Eventually brought improvements to industrial scale chemical plant production in Darlington (UK) to enhance catalyst life and lower raw material consumption. Results used to submit PhD thesis.
