The thesis is based on the comprehensive systematic literature review focusing on lightweight IT and low-code development platforms. This research delves into understanding their diverse uses, inherent characteristics, challenges, and applications in supporting heavyweight IT systems. By exploring the latest advancements and insights in this space, my goal is to contribute to the evolving landscape of IT by providing a nuanced understanding of the opportunities and obstacles presented by lightweight IT.
