Dr. Astrid Zwick

Head of the InsuResilience Secretariat responsible for the coordination and the support of the G7 InsuResilience Initiative geared to enable access to climate risk protection for additional 400 million people in developing and emerging countries by 2020 through indirect and direct insurance solutions.

Since September 2010 Head of Department “Corporate Responsibility” of Munich Re Group. From 2010 to 2012 Chair and as of 2013 Board Member of the PSI Initiative of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative. In addition, Chair of the Board of the Munich Re Schinzler Foundation on corporate volunteering and Board Member of the Munich University Society.

From 2000 to 2010 as Head of the Allianz Group Sustainability Office responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s strategy for sustainable development. From 2005 to 2008, chair of the Steering Committee “Sustainability Research” of the German Ministry of Education and Research.

From 1994 to 2000 scientific officer at the Institute for Technological Prospective Studies of the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission in Sevilla, Spain, in charge of policy advice on the analysis of political, technological and eco-nomic options for the reduction of greenhouse gases on the mandate of the Europe-an Parliament and the European Commission.

From 1990 to 1993: PhD at the Institute for Ecological Chemistry (German Joint Re-search Center for Environment and Health (GSF)), Munich, on climate research.
