Assist and contribute to research into developing new processes for the production of biobased (renewable) polymers and materials such as plastics, composites, foams, adhesives and coatings from biomass or bioderived components. Provide laboratory based expertise and services for polymer synthesis or materials/biomass processing for the production of new biobased materials, polymer processing (especially extrusion, compounding or polymer foaming.

The main objective of this work was the development of environmentally friendly urethane oligomers having good properties for cosmetic applications. To accomplish this aim, novel cyclic and biscyclic carbonates functional coupling agents were synthesized to replace the conventional toxic isocyanates. These cyclic carbonates were cured with a diamine in order to prepare hydroxyurethanes oligomers used in formulations.
