Responsible for integrating the AsiaPac local systems (both legacy and new for Australia, China, Singapore, Korea and India) into the SOA-oriented DLL-wide IT. I was the main contact point within the integration team for all matters pertaining to these various projects. Set up and coordinate Project Start Architectures in line with Enterprise Architecture. Coordinate design and implementation.

Responsible for the integration part of various projects, including: a worldwide International Remarketing Tool, an E-Invoicing solution across Europe; Digital Contract Validation for the Nordics; a mobile Vendor Finance solution for the EU; Basel 3 compliancy.

Unlocking the legacy Data Silos using a Belastingdienst-wide Enterprise Service Bus, using XML data streams via MQ and HTTP transport. The first generation of the ESB was set up (and used!) as a proof of concept, with all that that implies. The next generation must support various new requirements, such as better scalability, better security, better adherence to well-established standards.

The DTA frequently sends large volumes of e-mail. When done injudiciously, this may cause the DTA to be branded as a ‘spammer’, which is a risk for all SMTP based electronic message flows. When insourcing the e-mail facility, this risk must be mitigated.

Within the Dutch Tax Authority the sector Continuity is responsible for facilitating and maintaining ICT services, for internal customers but also for external clients, such as UWV and GBO Overheid (now called Logius). Team Mail & Messaging Services takes care of interfaces for electronic messaging. In addition, DTA takes care of Digipoort, which is used for customs declarations (X.400), statistical information to CBS (SMTP) as well as the income tax returns of every Dutch citizen (HTTP).

Be Value subcontracts its knowledge (and the employees) to other companies. I've held positions (with various customers) described above and below within this period.

Write initial proposal and action plan. Install and configure Windows server with IIS and Novell iFolder. Write end report, present to UWV Management. After this PoC, create the same for the first phase, plus training and documentation.

Increase the availability parameters of the PuMa II system. We had to figure out how and at what cost the availability could be increased to 99.5%. In short order I wrote a design that met these criteria, with options for even better availability or lower cost.

PuMa end users needed job instructions and manuals in order to perform well in the new PuMa environment. Our analysis led to three types of documents: (i) A gentle introduction manual; (ii) a process oriented step by step manual; and (iii) an application oriented reference manual.

Create functional and technical design for the PuMa Phase II technical infrastructure, including setting up a DTAP environment (VMWare GSX) and embedding the infra within the existing organisation, taking into account security, backup & recovery, single sign-on.

Within this project I have professionalised and documented the test, problem and change process, including tracking and documenting issues. Subsequently I’ve worked as first line, second line and eventually fourth line support.

Responsible for planning and coordinating the testing environments.

Novell had outsourced all channel support to Hewlett Packard’s European Customer Care Centre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I provided 3rd line support on all Novell products, but concentrating on ZenWorks, Groupwise and Server OS. I regularly scored top marks for number of calls closed and customer satisfaction. I set up, documented and maintained the lab environment. I replaced the team manager during his absence

During the academic year 1997 — 1998 I partly replaced my former thesis supervisor at Alfa-informatica. I taught the following subjects: databases (from ‘basic’ to ‘programming’ using Delphi); User interfaces, and Analysing Information Systems.
