    . Here my work involved cloning, expression and purification of antimicrobial peptides such as Protamine, Dermcidin etc. These proteins were successfully cloned using synthetic genes and expressed as fusion proteins using SUMO protein system. Later, the Peptides were cleaved from the fusion and purified using HPLC methods. The toxicokinetic studies of these peptides were characterized using various sensitivity tests against the microbes.

    Here my work involved characterization of protein- protein complexes involved in Zellweger syndrome. Towards this end, I had cloned several genes involved in Type II transport/translocation of peroxisome membrane/matrix targeted proteins. These proteins were cloned, expressed and purified using the Bacterial, methylotropic or Insect cells. The biochemical and biophysical characterization was done using Light Scattering, Immunoprecipitation and pulldown assay methods

    (MARK) are Ser/Thr kinases which are involved in regulating the ability of tau to bind microtubules that aggregate into neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs), a hallmark of Alzheimer disease. My doctoral work here involved structure determination of MARK kinases. Towards this end, I had cloned, expressed purified of several constructs of MARK and solved their crystal structures in various activated states. I have also characterized them using various Biochemical/Biophysical methods.
