Joined Cellgo as a Working Student supporting the mechanical design of carrier robots for automated warehouse systems. Redesigned a lightweight, injection-moulding-optimised chassis in Autodesk Inventor, integrating PCB and sensor mounts. Performed iterative FEA to optimise stress, deformation, and load capacity. Produced and validated ABS FDM prototypes to verify dimensional accuracy and assembly fit, reducing design-to-production discrepancies by 4%.

Worked with the production and CNC programming teams on design optimisation and manufacturing documentation. Redesigned components in Autodesk Fusion 360 to improve manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and tolerance control. Prepared CNC manufacturing documentation, including tool lists, in-process drawings, and inspection procedures. Supported quality improvement initiatives that reduced operational costs by 4%.

Worked on-site during the engineering and construction of a pet coke gasification unit, supporting technical reviews and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Assisted with mechanical installation, system commissioning, and integration of sensors and actuators into the central control network. Supported electrical communication setup, field device integration, and initial testing to verify system functionality and safety.

Spent two months embedded in an active oil refinery environment, gaining hands-on exposure to refinery operations across multiple process units including crude distillation, hydrotreating, and utilities. Developed working knowledge of the equipment used across these units and the interdependencies between them. Supported equipment maintenance activities — both preventive and corrective — and was introduced to the permit-to-work (PTW) system, actively adhering to HSE policies throughout the placement.
