Providing pre-sales technical consulting support for the Cisco Mobile Packet Core solution to account teams in the EMEA region, focusing on the ASR5000 and ASR5500 platforms and now also on the virtualized QvPC solution. Contributed to the selection of Cisco as a Packet Core vendor in the Deutsche Telekom group and supported the successful wins and deployments at T-Mobile Poland, Magyar Telekom and T-Mobile Czech Republic.

Continued the work as a Starent Network Consultant after the acquisition by Cisco. Changed customer focus from Vodafone D2, where the complete Packet Core was now running on the Starent ST40 (rebranded to Cisco ASR5000) to Deutsche Telekom, but now beyond Germany on an international level.

Continued the introduction of the Starent GGSN and SGSN into the Vodafone D2 network as the pre-sales consultant, addressing all the needs of the customer for the successful deployment including training, dimensioning and order preparation. Prepared the first LTE trials and also supported the OEM deployment of the Camiant PCRF.

Joined Starent Networks as the first employee in Germany, still in a fairly early stage of this startup where it had 15 employees in Europe and 300 world-wide. Planned, deployed and presented the successful trial of the Starent GGSN to Vodafone D2, which became the basis for the following success not only with Vodafone in Germany, but with many other Vodafone operators world-wide.

Coordinated and supported the introduction of the Nortel Mobile Packet Core solution (Passport SGSN and Shasta GGSN) to T-Mobile operators in Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, by performing all the necessary acceptance testing and troubleshooting to swap the legacy infrastructure. Worked directly on-site with customer engineering and operations teams in these countries.

Built and maintained a customer demonstration lab and performed many customer demos for all Nortel Internet access products, starting with analog modem concentrators, wireless local loop systems and then cable modems and termination systems. Focussed later on a VoIP technologies and supported a large customer deployment in Germany.

Developed software for the Nortel DMS 100 telephone switch using C and C++ in the areas of ISDN, ISUP and Carrier Selection, starting with a 13 month expat assignment to Canada and then continuing to work in Germany with multi-national teams and for international customers.
