I took this start-up recruitment company from zero to a turnover of c£5million and established the recruitment practice with FTSE-based companies.

I started the Supply Chain Practice from scratch in this Interim Management Provider. I built a profitable desk across a range of blue-chip clients by placing permanent and interim candidates.

Led a 15 person team breaking into the area of indirects purchasing across EMEA (16 countries, 32 sites). Areas of spend included HR, Logistics, IT, professional services, FM/property, travel and other areas. Delivered substantial savings to the business and built key stakeholder relationships (both internal and external).

I was responsible for working with government advisors (including legal teams, merchant bankers & accountants) on the sale of the train operating companies by the Government moving them into the private sector. I formed part of the team letting the Great Western Franchise - the first franchise to be privatised.

Reporting to the Finance Director, I set a new strategic direction for the company's purchasing & supply chain activities prior to privatisation and led the function for this area of British Rail.

I set up the first marketing purchasing activity in British Airways, bought aircraft seats and engine spares.
