I am interested in translational research in Immunology. Currently, I am exploring the role of NK cells in acute dengue virus infection and investigating the function of tissue-resident T cells in bile ducts and cholangiocarcinoma.

During my PhD, I focused on the role of NK cells and T cells in viral infections (hepatitis B, dengue virus) and liver diseases (primary sclerosing cholangitis, cholangiocarcinoma).

Under the supervision of Professor Eva Klein I investigated the interaction of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) on human B lymphocytes with a particular interest in the mechanisms of transformation for growth and malignancy. For this work, I mainly worked with cell culture, B cell infections with EBV and Western blot.

After taking courses for getting an overview about various subject in biology, I decided to focus in depth on immunology as well as animal physiology. In my Bachelor thesis, I investigated ion currents in the mouse trachea using Ussing chamber.
