Since 2010 I have coached executives from Germany, Spain, Poland, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Russia, amongst others, providing thousands of hours of training. Design and construction of gardens on Mallorca. My sense of adventure has returned and I have emigrated to Spain. I work on the design of gardens and the management of their construction. I discover what it is like to learn a second language when you need it for your work - very different from learning for fun or in school.

I now return to the same college where I studied 10 years earlier, this time as a lecturer, using my knowledge and experience gained to help others with dreams of starting their own businesses.

Business management support. Working within a franchised business I provide business and technical support to franchisees within a Garden Design Franchise Company.

Design and Construction of Gardens. I start and run my own business in Landscape design and construction, specialising in private gardens. I employ up to 7 people.

Landscape design, development and management. A complete change of industry. Having returned to studying for a few years I now develop design and project management skills working with civil engineering and architects on a wide variety of projects focussed on flood defence and environmental mitigation.

Exhibition transport services. Shipping goods in and out of exhibitions worldwide. Further developing my knowledge of shipping and international business.

International transport sales. My introduction to Spain and the Spanish language. Working in the sales department of a Spanish transport company - still using telex to organise transport contracts. Having studied French and Russian in school a few years earlier, I now get a chance to learn some Spanish.

International Gas Shipbrokers. My first taste of the world of business. In those days we used telex to broker shipping charter contracts - my job was to check the details. I learned a lot about the language of business and contracts.

International shipping. My first job at the age of 16. I had a sense of adventure and wanted to see the world.
