Ported the complete FreeNAS source code to pfSense to turn pfSense devices into a complementary NAS device providing SMB/CIFS, NFS, FTP, iSCSI, rsync, AFP, UPnP, Zeroconf and Software-RAID management services. FreeNAS can be installed as a pfSense package/add-on.

C-based programming. Build & Package Management using CMake and Inno Setup. Implementation of a Zeroconf plug-in having the purpose of publishing the the FTP daemon service to consumers such as web browsers.

Web GUI development, Implemented a brand new Web 2.0 Management Interface based on script.aculo.us and JQuery in support of managing underlying operating system services, Build & Package Management, Operating System Services, network configuration (Package Routing & Filtering, Ethernet, Mesh-Routing, Wi-Fi etc.).

Multiple patch submissions for GNOME apps to add Zeroconf support and server daemons like OpenLDAP, wzdftpd, PostgreSQL etc.. Added Avahi support to both FreeNAS and pfSense.

Published various articles belonging to the domain of enterprise computing and networking - most namely an article about the DSPAM SPAM prevention engine.

Published a diverse set of articles, each related to Eclipse plugin programming and usage.

Published a diverse set of articles ranging from Unix based networking to application programming on a Unix type of platform.

Authored a book on IBM WebSphere sMash

Port of the TDM v4 C based interface for Unigrafix from a 32-bit Windows platform to Solaris (Sparc) based 64-bit platform. Implementation of a complete new autoconf based build system, applied changes to the ProC (Oracle) program logic, implementation of custom Motif dialogs. Documented the code base using Doxygen. Worked on porting the TDM v4 C based interface for IBM Catia on IBM AIX. Overall work amount was about 450 man hours.

Design and implementation of a web based (DHTML) client for the Tamino XML Server. The web interface was programmed using the MVC design pattern using Java Beans and Java ServerPages for the GUI part of the framework. The web based client enables users to issue XPath/XQuery requests against a Tamino instance. The resulting record sets are displayed using an expandable and colorized XML tree. Responsible for information acquisition (information technologie) for the German developerWorks web site. At that point of time developerWorks Germany was a pilot project with the goal to establish a specialized developerWorks for German speaking countries.
