David Chapman

I supervise one shift of the Washington Fire Department. I have responsibility for staffing, job and station assignments, and training oversight. I perform incident management at emergency scenes of fire, emergency medical, hazmat and rescue operations.

I served as the sole administrator for a municipal fire department. I had responsibility over all routine and emergency operations of the department. The human resources, leadership, strategic planning and financial budgeting functions were under my control.

As a company officer, I was team leader for an engince company responding to emergency responses. I was responsible for personnel safety, team effectiveness, and personnel development. I served as an fire instructor, fire scene investigator, and hazmat instructor. As a firefighter, I served on an engine company as a team member. I responded to emergency scenes and conducted fire suppression, emergency medical, hazmat and rescue operations. I continually upgraded my training and certifications.

I was a customer service representative and dispatcher. I fielded customer calls for products and services and dispatched fleet trucks to fulfill orders. I also dispatched the company supply fleet for products for resale. I also filled positions in the production processes during vacancies.

I am completing my degree as I continue to be employed. I anticipate completion by December of 2009.
