Dounia Kuck

I organize and lead multiple language learning projects for researchers at various Japanese and German institutions to overcome linguistic challenges in science. This is achieved by teaching English for Science and Technology (EST) and scientific writing methodology as well as translating and editing scientific papers, publications, technical reports, and grant applications. My goal is to develop the researchers’ ability to effectively communicate research findings which is crucial to their success.

I have worked as an English-as-an-additional-language (EAL) teacher at the International School Twente (Enschede, NL). A role where I was required to design and manage the international EAL/ESL program, organize and lead professional development for teachers, as well as translate school policies to the international community to ensure a smooth integration into the system.

In my role as a headteacher at Anglia Network Europe, I was in charge of coordinating and managing the provision of English language programs by communicating in different languages with partner institutions, external agencies, government departments, and prospective clients. This included the planning, organization, translation, and supervision of English language programs in the Netherlands.
