Single Molecule Genetics: Research in the field of SNPs which cause disorders like achondroplasia or thanatophoric dysplasia (dwarfism). Applied assay was the bead emulsion amplification (BEA) to measure the mutation frequencies. The aim was to stabilize the emulsion including the optimization of the subsequent breakage. Now we are performing genotype measurements with the optimized BEA assay in the lab to determine mutation frequencies in extracted sperm and testis DNA.

Measurement of concentration of nitrite, sulfate, phosphate, chloride, iron, etc. of drinking/heating/cooling water via photometry. Further analysis of conductivity, pH value, water hardness with subsequent evaluation of the water quality. Investigation of the appropriate anti-freeze level in cooling/heating water, the corrosion level due to chlorides or bacterial contaminations. Routine maintenance of existing water systems and validation of ground/well waters for suitability as heating/cooling water.
