I developed and am executing the DCA's first comprehensive communications plan, starting with revamping the website, revitalizing the blog, and sending out a biweekly newsletter. Am also working on video, print publications and marketing materials, media outreach, and more.

I write and edit case studies and other publications and photograph the participants to capture this project's successes and lessons learned.

I contribute periodic essays, interviews, and reviews about movies and the people who make them to The House Next Door, a NYC-based blog about popular culture.

I am one of two movie reviewers for TimeOFF, the weekend entertainment supplement for about a dozen papers in Central New Jersey. I write a review a week for them, plus the occasional interview, think piece, top 10 list, etc.

I did all kinds of communications work for PHI, starting as a consultant in spring 2001, when I co-wrote the chapter on nursing assistant education and training for a report to Congress on nursing home staffing. Main duties included: • Creating or helping to redesign PHI websites • Writing PHI’s weekly online newsletter • Managing the PHI blog (writing or editing all posts) • Shooting and editing videos and managing PHI’s YouTube channel • Writing and editing fact sheets, issue briefs, and articles

I oversaw editorial content on Long-term Care Provider.com and Home Health Provider.com, business-to-business websites for long-term care and home care professionals. Duties included: • Posting four news stories, features, columns and other stories a day on each • Sending out three weekly online newsletters • Managing the work of associate editors, freelance writers, and columnists • Building awareness by speaking at conferences, participating in online communities, developing publicity materials, etc.

I raised editorial standards for Contemporary Long Term Care, a monthly magazine for long-term care and senior housing professionals, by hiring and training a staff of savvy editors; bringing in talented writers; directing a redesign; and launching popular supplements, departments, and special sections. Also oversaw content for Contemporary’s trade shows, website, newsletter and other editorial products and worked with the publisher and art director to develop marketing strategy and materials.
