I was designated for a new job to renew Global Strategy for the newly created Power Division around the concepts of innovation and customer centricity. Tasked with developing decisions regarding customer and market segment targeting and which countries should be prioritized, as well as propose research and development projects for products and solutions for (and with) the specified targets.

I was charged with Schneider Electric Mexico’s manufacturing, engineering, quality and project management as part of a program to get cross training for upper management. I was responsible for 2 factories, with almost 2 thousand employees. A large proportion of the products manufactured were bound for the US market.

Reorganized Strategic Planning and Marketing functions giving the marketing area the ability to decide which products to launch, which to take out of the market and how to maximize profit while minimizing costs. A major element was the training of engineers usually accustomed to provide only technical support, in financial tools that allowed them to make business plans and make proposals with financial arguments as well as technical ones.
