As an Associate Principle Scientist for In Vitro Imaging in the Heart Failure department I played a key role in driving science and drug discovery projects forward. My main responsibilities were: - Leading pipeline projects progressing existing portfolio and driving novel science - Serving as an expert for novel cell-based models, molecular biology and image-based technology - Managing and developing the high-content imaging platform

I provide scientific and technical support for preclinical drug development projects in different disease areas (respiratory, inflammation and autoimmunity diseases, oncology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases).

I focus on the DNA-damage network and its interplay with the human cell-cycle - both research fields with big implications on cancer development. I investigate the molecular regulation of cancer cell biology by developing novel microscopy-based techniques, screening assays and flow cytometry applications. An important part of my work includes data analysis and oral/written communication of results, international collaborations, as well as teaching and supervision of MSc and PhD students.

I developed a live-cell microscopy assay and utilized it to study the molecular interactions of Foamy Virus, a retrovirus closely related to HIV and hepatitis, with host cells.

As part of my BSc degree I worked in the department of proteomics at the BIOTEC institute, Dresden for 5 month. Here, I was involved in a project using mass spectrometry to study bone marrow development.

As summer research placement I worked 3 month as a student assistant in the Center of highly Pathogenic Viruses at the Robert Koch institute, Berlin, studying the molecular biology of yellow fever virus.
