Responsible for two five-members central teams (crops and geo-information systems) composed of fronted and backend developers; performance reviews, goals definition, team development, talent acquisition. As system architect responsible for the architectural decisions in the teams and member of the architectural board, where more general architectural decisions are made. Also worked as full-stack developer (Spring/Jboss/angularJS/angular) and team support (docker/swarm, linux environment).

I mostly worked as backend developer & DevOps with most of the systems developed in Java, Python and Bash, though Pearl, Ruby and other scripting languages are also used. I also worked as data manager as well as co-designer of our search solution based on Solr. I designed and helped developing a monitoring tool for our search system (Solr, HornetQ, Postgres, CouchDB) and CMS (eZ Publish, Redis, Symfony). The developed deployment procedure allow us modify schemas and perform a full import with no downtime.

I supported the infrastructure development for the MiKlip Project by development a framework used for performing statistical analysis of decadal climate forecasting. The system is designed for collaborative working by allowing users to store, analyze, edit and share all performed steps as well as their results. I also developed a search infrastructure that acts as a file system and integrates into the bash shell including auto-completion support with configurable and extendable crawler and a Solr backend.

Responsible for the IT infrastructure for the IPCC CMIP5/AR5 projects at the German High Performance Computing Centre for Climate- and Earth System Research (DKRZ), which involved the commissioning, maintenance and development of the data node, for storing Petabytes of climate simulations worldwide, and the gateway, for providing data access with decentralized authentication and authorization mechanisms. I also acted as a proxy for the DKRZ in the ESGF committee.

Manager of the development and implementation of a distributed logistics game for the Autostadt in Wolfsburg (VW). The game was developed for events and for continuous operation at the Autostadt. The game consists of four interactive clients (players), two passive clients (which projects the game world on a large wall), the game server (data management) and an application for remote monitoring, control and management of all game instances (hardware energy management, crash recovery, auto-restart, etc.)

Testing, maintenance and development of several parts of an early warning system (WIND) and his successor (SITUMET). The system was designed for interacting both with other automated systems as well as with humans. 10 large companies participated in WIND. Development of a nowcast visualization and editing system for remote collaboration as part of my diploma thesis.

Maintenance and development of Excel / VBA tools for Telecommunications. Manager and developer in a small group responsible for porting Excel / VBA tools to Java. The result was an SWT application and an Eclipse plug-in involving the coupling of security mechanisms via JNI. This application has been used worldwide by internal network planners. The accuracy, speed and robustness of the application was critical and the result excelled in those areas.
