Faizana Naeem

Project Lead: URTEAM Urban/Regional Traffic, Emergency and Airspace Management: a collaborative research project led by Universität der Bundeswehr München and TU Hamburg , focus on the model and evaluate air-taxi take-off and landing procedures using MATLAB and AnyLogic, including trajectory, obstacle, weather, traffic-demand, and capacity analysis. Alongside my research, I prepare technical publications and project reports, present results at international conferences.

Project Lead : Air Mobility in Urban Space (AMIUS) Consortium members: UniBwM, AIRBUS, TUM, F.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS, SKYFIVE AG, DRONIQ. We developed an integrated Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance infrastructure concept for Urban Air Mobility operations between Munich and Ingolstadt. My responsibilities included 5G ground-to-air communication modelling, RF propagation and link-budget analysis, frequency and antenna evaluation, base-station placement, coverage assessment, and infra. cost analysis.

As a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford, I contributed to the Fly2Plan project, which developed a trusted data-exchange framework for conventional aviation, Urban Air Mobility, and autonomous flight operations. My work included aviation-data analysis, machine-learning-based anomaly detection, threat modelling, security-testing strategies, and the definition of security and privacy requirements.

As a Software Engineer at MTop Global Inc., I designed and developed software solutions based on client requirements, with attention to functionality, scalability, and performance. I contributed to system architecture and technical specifications and implemented unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. The role also involved communicating with clients, translating their requirements into technical tasks, troubleshooting software issues, and supporting the delivery of reliable software solutions.

As an Information Technology and Information Security Officer at Solution Founder Software, I provided technical support for users, software, computer systems, and networks. I monitored system and network activity, supported the identification and handling of security incidents, and coordinated with system administrators and network engineers. I also maintained documentation covering software development, system configurations, technical procedures, and troubleshooting activities.

As a Laboratory Engineer in the Data Communication and Network Laboratory at the NUST, I conducted communication and networking laboratory sessions for undergraduate students. I supported practical demonstrations, laboratory exercises, technical assessments, and troubleshooting of network and communication systems. I also supervised student projects through design, implementation, testing, and documentation, helping students connect theoretical communication concepts with practical engineering applications.

As a Teaching Assistant at the University of Management and Technology, I supported courses in Software Requirements Engineering, Software Project Management, and Software Quality and Testing. I prepared teaching materials, assisted during classes and laboratory sessions, answered students’ technical questions, and supported coursework and assessment activities. I also helped coordinate and supervise a group of approximately 150 undergraduate students.

Proposed Topic: An assessment of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) infrastructure cost and architecture.
