Working closely with the communications team and Head of Patient and Public Engagement (PPE), as PPE Manager I had to ensure that all engagement activities contributed positively to proactive management of the PCT’s reputation as local leader of the NHS. As PPE Manager I had to design, implement and manage corporate engagement projects consistent with best practice standards in PPE, and advised commissioning managers in developing effective public and patient engagement.

• This post was created to ensure that local people are involved in decisions regarding their health care. The role entails working closely with patients and community/voluntary organizations to gain a better understanding of what services local people require. This is then fed into local commissioning plans making the Primary Care Trust truly patient led. Overall a customer relations role where patients concerns, comments and complaints are used to improve services.
