Working towards the recognition of Greek machine-printed and handwritten polytonic documents. We will strive toward research which can assist the content holders in turning an archive of old Greek documents into a digital collection with full text access capabilities using novel Optical Character Recognition (OCR) methods. The aim of this project is to advance the frontiers and facilitate current and future efforts in old Greek document digitization and processing.

Participate as a software engineer in several Greek and European applied R&D projects in the areas of pattern recognition with emphasis on online handwriting recognition, educational technology and machine learning. This work has been published in Greek and international conferences. The results of the basic and applied research are incorporated in commercial products or laboratory prototypes.
