Dr. Francesco Dell'Endice

Francesco is one of the founders of QualySense AG. He leads the management team and his activities include business and technology development, dealing with intellectual property, and networking with financial and industrial partners.

Francesco developed a new concept for the calibration of an airborne imaging spectrometer (European Space Agency project) by combining several techniques, including laboratory, vicarious and image-based calibration approaches. He also developed optimization algorithms to improve data-extraction and published the results of his work in relevant scientific journals as Applied Optics.

Since little, Francesco has been involved in several aspects of this family business. He got to know the SME entrepreneurial environment thanks to his dad and he learned negotiation practices, provision of materials, and production strategies (e.g. outsourcing).

Francesco has been involved in several international scientific projects and has been participating to symposium all across the world. In 2009, he was chairman at the IGARSS conference in South Africa for a session about sensor calibration. His dissertation title was "Improving Quality of Imaging
