I worked in the development of immunocomplexes using plants and viral vectors that can form the basis of oral vaccines at a sufficiently low cost to allow their wide scale use (subject to patent).

I developed a new technology based on tombusvirus, defective interfering (DI) and cytotoxic genes to generate and express cytotoxic genes in the infected cells in order to induce extreme resistance against plant viruses (subject to patent). I researched on the mechanisms and elements required for the viral replication of Tombusvirus.

I cloned, sequenced and molecular characterized, for the first time for science, a new plant virus that infects sunflower plants. I elaborated diagnosis molecular reagents for this new potyvirus.
