I am editor-in-chief of ChemPhysChem (since July 2011), ChemPhotoChem (since August 2016), Batteries & Supercaps (since December 2017) and ChemSystemsChem (since October 2018). I launched the latter three journals and am responsible for establishing their position in the market and developing them to leading journals in their fields.

I was the editor-in-chief of ChemElectroChem, a journal that I also launched. Apart from the day-to-day work on the journal, it was also my responsibility to ensure that the journal obtained a reputation among scientists and attracted good submissions from the field. ChemElectroChem developed into one of the top electochemistry journals worldwide within three years of its launch. In June 2018 I passed on the responsibility for ChemElectroChem to concentrate on further new projects.

Responsible for the day-to-day work at a scientific journal, most importantly selecting suitable submissions for peer review and managing the peer-review process.

I served as a liason between the researchers at the university and the major funding agency. My responsibilities included advising researchers on their funding options and helping them to prepare their applications to maximise their chances to obtain funding. This was a position limited to five months, as maternity leave replacement.

Lecturer for first-year chemistry courses (one semester per year). I was also involved in developing new course material and I initiated a laboratory safety course.

Lecturer for a development programme to enhance the skills of secondary school science teachers from disadvantaged communities. I did this over two winter breaks.

Supervising laboratory sessions of up to 70 students.
