Freelance engineer and solo builder of a civic-tech platform for participatory neighbourhood mapping, in live pilot with city administrations and local initiatives. Built spatial queries with SQLite/SpatiaLite and map rendering with MapLibre, a native-feeling mobile UI with Inertia and Svelte 5, image uploads, and an admin interface on the default Rails/Hotwire stack.

Maintainer of an academic research platform live since 2012, indexing 3,000+ records (persons, places, sources, images, e-texts). Rails version upgrades, dependency patches and server administration, plus performance work, bugfixes, backups and careful refactoring of legacy code where a rewrite would lose institutional knowledge.

Backend Rails engineering across a task-management product used by millions. Designed and evolved GraphQL and REST APIs serving native iOS, Android, desktop and web clients. Led the migration of production infrastructure to Kubernetes and introduced OpenTelemetry-based observability. Built background-job infrastructure with Sidekiq, plus performance work, refactoring, code review and mentoring.

Tutor for Software Engineering and Project Management (SEPM) and Requirements Engineering and Specification (RES). Responsibilities included evaluation and supervision of student projects.

Developer tooling and build infrastructure. Built an Eclipse refactoring plugin and set up continuous integration with Docker and Jenkins.

Test-automation tooling. Developed test-automation extensions in Java, C# and Delphi.
