    Chemical engineer in a plant which manufactures and formulates fungicides and insecticides. Responsibilities split between run plant and improvement type activities, with the majority of work focusing on projects. Key experiences: Served as manufacturing representative on project to upgrade packaging lines on the plant. Responsibilities included organizing and clearly communicating with project team, leading start up activities, specifying new equipment, drawing P&IDs,& communicating with suppliers.

    Research focused on developing mass balance models for the growth of lettuce, red beet and Arabidopsis thaliana, with a particular focus on the identifiability of model parameters. In addition to model development work, practical experiments were designed and conducted for Arabidopsis in order to generate informative data. Work was part of a ESA project, which aimed to develop technology for a future regenerative life support system for long term manned space missions (MELiSSA)
