Co-leading a small team in Birmingham, plus liaising with our offshore team in India, responsible for the modular design, development, implementation and maintenance for all different projects including the latest Engine Control Unit for TRENT-TEN (787 Dreamliner), XWB amongst other TRENT family engines. Formalization and delivery of common design blocks CCBs, Engineering Change Requests, and Failure Investigations with immediate Action. Re-design of blocks due to obsolescence and change of requirements

Responsible for hardware-design, development, implementation and testing on the latest engine controls projects modules from inception, This required me to work with cross-functional teams and understand complex systems and requirements, this was technically challenging and required me to work in line with multiple standards simultaneously (e.g. civil and military).

This role consisted of liaising and talking to different teams, experts and individuals, learning the mechanical aspect of the engine as well as networking and developing relationships across the business. The role included assisting the development of a new servo-valve for the TRENT XWB engine. I was given the REMM project to work from beginning inception through to completion.

The work completed on this role broadened my knowledge as an Engineer, it helped understand how Rolls Royce operate as a company and gave a good overview of how it works on a system level. Learnt about Legacy products, the reputation in which RR was built.
