Dr. Humera Noor Minhas

Served as a project coordinator and technical supervisor for a DAAD-funded (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) project on Assistive Robots under German-Pakistani Research Collaboration Program. The project is a joint venture among Universität Bremen (previously Technische Universität München (Munich – Germany)), NED University of Engineering & Technology (Karachi – Pakistan) and Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lahore – Pakistan).

Responsibilities include assisting the chairperson to exercise all administrative and financial powers entrusted by the statutes, regulations and/or assigned or delegated from time to time. Managed a team of 25+ Faculty Members and 25+ other Staff Members.

Served at the Dept. of Computer & Information Systems Engg. from 2001 to 2008 after which continued services at the Dept. of Electronic (Telecommunications) Engg. Responsibilities as a faculty member included but not limited to:  Teaching Graduate (Class Size – upto 25) & Undergraduate Courses(Class size: 70+70)  Supervising Graduate and Undergraduate Engineering projects  In charge – Research & Computation Laboratories  In charge – Software Library (Dept. of CIS Engineering)  Class Advisor

Worked as a post doctoral research fellow at the Intelligent Autonomous Systems group at the Faculty of Informatics at Techniche Universität München, Germany and was involved in visual perception for intelligent systems. This includes, but is not limited to, automated video analysis, context-aware perception, assistive robots, first person vision etc.

I worked at the Computer Vision Lab (http://crcv.ucf.edu/) with Prof. Mubarak Shah at the UCF for a couple of semesters as an exchange scholar. The major work was carried out on Content-based Multimedia Retrieval, Automatic Target Recognition and Multi-view Modeling for Object Recognition.

The research has been done in the field of Computer Vision and Image Processing. The major modules include: - Image Synthesis - Multi-view Object Recognition - Object Classification - Video-based analysis and recognition

Masters in Computer Engineering with specialization in Software Engineering. CGPA: 3.75. The thesis titled: “Effect of Data Preprocessing on Artificial Neural Networks for Intelligent Software Design”.

Bachelors in Computer Systems Engineering. Awarded Merit Certificate for securing 3rd position with 91% marks.
