I have worked on several projects: AWS CloudFront & Route 53, AWS OpsWorks, and AWS Management Console Platform.

Sole systems engineer for entire infrastructure; implemented web services with AWS ELB and haproxy, nginx, gunicorn (using Tornado for the backend), and ElasticSearch for data store. Locked down all machines with EC2 Security Groups and restricted access to the network with OpenVPN. Used Chef for automation. Automated unit/integration tests with Jenkins, and automatically packaged Python apps as system packages with custom scripts.

I was part of a two person UNIX team within an eight person IT department. I helped streamline internal operations with CI systems that automatically ran tests against Puppet manifests, as well as replaced Cacti with Graphite and automated addition of new machines to the monitoring stack. Also wrote several OSS libraries that we used internally, and released them to the world (especially for Opsview integration with Ruby/Puppet.) Rolled out logstash, graylog2, mcollective, collectd, logstash, and graphite.

Assisted the support team with higher level UNIX related questions. Handled large customers who wanted to migrate over to Blue Box Group from other cloud providers. Automated several tasks that would have taken at least a full day to execute. Maintained OSS Chef repository on behalf of BBG: https://github.com/blueboxgroup/bbg_cookbooks. Contributed patches to libcloud, Chef, and fog on behalf of BBG.
