During my Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship at the FHI under supervision of Prof. Dr. G. Meijer, I learned technique of Stark deceleration of molecular beams. Stark deceleration is an exceptional technique as it allows slowing and cooling down polar molecules. Once slowed down, molecules can be trapped and cooled down further, eventually to the temperature of Bose-Einstein condensation. My responsibility within the project was to produce LiH and NH supersonic molecular beams.

During my PhD project, I studied the composition of ablation plumes formed in the interaction of a laser pulse with a solid sample (laser ablation). Laser ablation is one of the main methods used for the production of cold plasmas.
