BMFTR research project. • Electro-chemo-mechanical modelling of solid oxide electrolysis cells. - Electrochemical characterization (Impedance spectroscopy, DRT analysis, EEC modeling). - Development of comprehensive 3-dimensional finite elements model (Comsol Multiphysics) of SOEC.

DFG research projects: • Electromechanical properties and atomistic transport in aluminum nitride single crystals at high temperatures • In-situ methods for the determination of high oxygen deficits in cerium-zirconium mixed oxides (CZO) for use in exhaust gas aftertreatment

Doctoral and post-doctoral research focusing on electrophysical properties of Si and SiGe micro- and nanowires at cryogenic temperatures, under strong magnetic fields and mechanical strains for creation of sensors and energy converters utilizing thermoelectric, piezoresistive and magnetoresistive effects. Development of thermoelectric converters on the basis of nanostructured Si and SiGe.

• Development of high-efficiency nanostructured thermoelectric generators for industrial waste heat recovery. - Synthesis of nanostructured thermoelectric materials; - Rapid current-assisted hot-press sintering of bulk thermoelectric composites; - Comprehensive characterization of developed materials and devices.

Development of nanostructured thermoelectric materials and metal composite electrodes as well as technological aspects of novel thermoelectric generators with enhanced power density. Fabrication of materials and test specimens by conventional and unconventional rapid synthesis and nanostructuring techniques followed by Spark Plasma Sintering. Comprehensive microstructural studies and investigation of thermoelectric properties.
